Deliveroo is looking for 15,000 new riders and drivers as demand surges
While many firms are cutting back, the delivery business is booming - and that means an awful lot more riders and drivers are needed at Deliveroo with the firm on the hunt for thousands of new applicants.
Deliveroo is on the hunt for 15,000 new riders by the end of the year as demand for its services rockets.
Since the first lockdown came into force, the delivery firm has been expanding fast - signing up 11,500 new restaurants as well as launching or extending partnerships with major brands.
All that means more work for its riders - and now it's said it's looking for thousands and thousands more people to get involved - on top of the 15,000 recruited since the start of the pandemic.
Deliveroo chief executive Will Shu said: “Riders are heroes and we are so proud of the vital role that they are carrying out in their local communities during the pandemic.
"It is fantastic that we can now recruit even more riders and will create a record 15,000 new opportunities by the end of the year.
"With a record number of riders and restaurant partners on the platform, we can now reach even more amazing customers across the UK, delivering the food that people need and want."
