Facebook announces 1,000 new UK jobs

Facebook is to create 1,000 new jobs in London this year, the tech giant has revealed. Some of the roles the Silicon Valley-headquartered firm is adding in the UK will focus on tackling harmful content – they'll be tasked with developing tools to police posts on Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp. Other roles the company will advertise are in the fields of software engineering, product design and data science. The increase in headcount will bring Facebook's UK workforce to over 4,000.
