Description:
•The compliance officer should have:
• - Substantial experience of Day Nursery management and regulations, including safeguarding and health and safety.
• - Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and child development.
•- Strong understanding of OFSTED standards and practices.
• - In depth knowledge of early year funding entitlements and claim processes.
• - Excellent attention to detail, ensuring all compliance areas are thoroughly monitored and maintained.
•Key Responsibilities
•Funding and Finance
• - Oversee and ensure accurate processing and reporting of all funding-related activities.
• - Report permanent and support staff hours to finance for accurate payroll processing.
•Compliance and Audits
- Collaborate with the Director and other senior staff to maintain a high standard of care and compliance.
• - Take ownership of ensuring internal policies and procedures are current, aligned with best practice standards, and fully compliant with
regulatory requirements.
• - Ensure nursery operations comply with EYFS Section 1.1-3.79.
• - Support staff in maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• - Ensure staff paperwork meets compliance standards.
• - Ensure recruitment processes meet with compliance standards.
• - Conduct regular safeguarding audits to ensure child safety and compliance with policies.
• - Perform nappy audits to maintain hygiene and care standards.
• - Carry out health and safety audits, ensuring the nursery environment meets all safety regulations.
• - Review and ensure compliance of child records, maintaining up-to-date and accurate information.
• - Ensure staff recruitment papers meet regulatory and internal compliance standards.
• - Maintain and update the Director's Compliance list.
• - Support the team of staff to meet statutory ratios, include contingency staffing where appropriate.
