Careers Advice at Pavilions

The National Careers Service London team are spending the day at The Pavilions Shopping Centre to offer local residents free careers advice on Saturday 9 December. You'll be able to find the Advisers stationed outside Metro Bank.

The National Careers Service can help you to find employment, boost your skills and qualifications or progress in your current career.

Advisers in London are experts on the area, with access to up-to-date labour market information and local opportunities to help you to make the best decision on your career. They can also help you secure the role of your dreams with support for tailored CVs and completing application forms.

Advisers can provide support for:

• Tailoring a CV to get the desired job
• How to complete application letters and forms
• Interview tips and support
• Understanding the local labour market, including sector information about career paths
• Using social media to get a job
• The hidden job market
• Use of websites to support job or course search
• Undertaking a skills health check to identify skills gaps
• Identifying transferable skills
• Understanding the importance of function skills – English, maths and IT – in getting a job
