Event date: 3/21/2018 Export event
Giving Careers Advice for VFX is an information event organised by the UK Screen Alliance in partnership with the National Careers Service, Creative Skillset and IntoFilm. This event takes place at The Mill, an international VFX & Creative Content Studio headquartered in London. The Mill is respected for high-end visual effects, award-winning moving image design and digital projects for the advertising, games and music industries.
Giving Careers Advice for VFX is aimed at Careers Advisers who work with young people aged 14-21 and will provide insights into the Visual Effects industry in the UK.
Central London is home to one of the world's biggest clusters of award-winning VFX companies who work on a huge range of media projects, including films such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Suffragette, adverts such as John Lewis' Christmas Advert (2017) and TV programmes such as The Crown.
This fast growing high-tech sector is constantly on the lookout for fresh talent with a blend of digital and creative skills but the industry can also offer opportunties to those who are less creative.
Attendees at Giving Careers Advice for VFX will find out about the job roles, apprenticeships and pathways to rewarding careers in film, TV and advertising plus get a behind the scenes look at a VFX company in action.
