Prospects partners with Birmingham City Football Club

The National Careers Service in the West Midlands has teamed up with Birmingham City Football Club to help spearhead a recruitment drive for the new 2017/18 football season.

The partnership was initiated by the local employer engagement team, which regularly works with local businesses and employment initiatives in the region. The team met with representatives from the football club to discuss how they could support their recruitment drive, and demonstrated their success and expertise in similar projects with Grand Central, Amazon and Birmingham Airport.

Birmingham City Football Club has multiple vacancies that range from retail catering staff, stadium hawkers, chefs, bar assistants, kitchen porters, sales assistants, kitchen porters, sales assistants and many more. There are also volunteer roles available to provide support on match days.

Prospects staff helped organise recruitment events at St Andrew’s Stadium, in which jobseekers could access these vacancies and gain specialist employment support. Over 100 people attended the first event that took place on Monday 19 June. Further events are scheduled to take place to help fill these vacancies.

National Careers Service advisers play a key role at these events to provide expert advice, and help jobseekers access alternative employment or training opportunities where the roles on offer may not be suitable.

To find out further information about this event, please visit the Birmingham City Football Club website or contact Kalpana Patel, Regional Director for the West Midlands.
